Chat permissions became a platform problem, not a feature request.
At the time, chat on Mighty had no off switch — it was on, platform-wide, for every member by default. A moderation concern surfaced what was always a gap: there was no way for Hosts to control or limit private communication across their Network.
This required rethinking how communication permissions work across a multi-tenant system, and building an architecture that had to hold up as the platform scaled.
I owned system mapping, interaction design, and a phased rollout that enabled safe delivery — in collaboration with product, engineering, and QA.
